    Love Stories: San Antonio Sweethearts

Leave it to a country song to bring a boy and a girl back together.

Bradley and I were born and raised in San Antonio. We met when I was 17 – I was a senior in high school, and he a freshman in college. His little brother and I were friends, which is how I ended up at their house for Super Bowl Sunday. Bradley and I hit it off and dated for a couple of years, but we parted ways during my sophomore year of college. When I graduated, I moved to Austin and eventually Denver, while he stayed in our hometown and worked on starting his own business.

One day some years later, Bradley was at a country music concert and heard a song that reminded him of me. The next day, he called. It was like we had never been apart. Shortly after, we made plans to meet up in Austin for dinner. Over that meal, our relationship was rekindled, and less than nine months later, he proposed while visiting me in Denver over Valentine’s Day weekend.

Shortly after that, I moved back to Texas, and he and I spent the next several months planning our long-awaited wedding. (I had wanted to marry him since we first met.) We decided that it was only appropriate that we would get married beneath the Texas oak trees in Hill Country outside our hometown. We said our “I dos” on the 17th of September, the date commemorating the age I was when I fell in love with Bradley.
