    The Young and the Dress-less

On my friend Kristen’s wedding day, she was truly relaxed and put together. With about 20 minutes to spare before she needed to put on her gown and begin the pre-ceremony dressing rituals, everything seemed in its place. So I left her to go check on things in the church, where her parents were putting the finishing touches on the decorating efforts. I approached her cool, calm and collected dad and asked if he needed any help. He turned to answer me and suddenly got wide-eyed. At that very moment, he realized that he had failed to do his one and only task for the day (aside from walking his daughter down the aisle). The dress! He was supposed to bring the dress to the church for Kristen, and no one had even realized that it was missing. I immediately sent him on his way, as they lived about 30 minutes from the church. Needless to say, things were slightly delayed – in all just 20 minutes because he made really good time. Thankfully, this was but a blip in the schedule for what was an otherwise perfect day.
